EDF Energy’s Hinkley Point C will be the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK. It is expected to start providing electricity to 6 million UK homes in 2025. It will sit alongside an operating nuclear power station and another being decommissioned nearby.
Hinkley Point C will mark a significant moment in the revitalisation of the UK’s nuclear industry.
Abacus is currently supporting the construction of the Temporary Jetty Project and the Combwich Wharf Refurbishment Project which enable sea delivery of heavy equipment and material, reducing pressure on local roads.
Abacus is also supporting the commercial management of the roads and networks packages and the enabling works, administering most main options within the NEC suite of contracts.
These contracts are designed to promote a collaborative approach to contract administration. In order for this to work, all parties must adhere to strict procedures. Abacus has the expertise to work within this collaborative framework.
Abacus has framework agreements with Hinkley Point Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors and is currently assisting with pre and post-contract administration and quantity surveying services.
